March 2022 | Second Grade Teachers: Ms. Odette & Ms.Grace

The second graders at Abundant Waters have been busy learning. Two times per week half of the class is learning to play the violin. They have learned to play Twinkle twinkle little star and the children have taught us fun facts about the violin. Did you know that the strings of the bow are made out of horse hair? While half of the class is busy learning to play the violin, the other half has gardening class. Our children have learned about composting and the important role that worms play in soil. The second graders have planted spinach seeds and are looking forward for their growth.

Our children enjoy playing with board games. We make different game stations and each group of children gets a chance to rotate and play at each station.

A few weeks ago our second graders celebrated the 100th day of school at PS51. We came up with the idea of celebrating the 100th day of Abundant Waters so look out for what we come up with!
