Once a week we have gardening with Anne. The garden is flourishing with growth of strawberries, apple trees, spinach, lettuce, garlic and flowers. As we walked and looked at our garden, we noticed insects and bugs that live in our garden. Last week we learned about Monarch butterflies, this week Spiders.

Here are some spider facts that we discussed: - Spiders are not insects.

- All spiders can spin silk, but not all spiders spin webs.

- Spiders spin webs to catch other bugs to eat. - The wolf spider carries her babies on her back with her. - Spiders help the garden by eating unwanted bugs by capturing them in their web. - There are 4 main types of webs, orb, funnel, tangled/woolly and sheet.
